We currently have vacancies for temporary/supply nursery staff in Bristol and Gloucestershire. The role involves covering staff absences in nurseries with children aged 0 to 5 years old, this can be for the odd day or a block of weeks. The positions are very flexible with great rates of pay from £5.75 to £8.50 per hour which are paid weekly Candidates can be qualified or unqualified but will need some childcare experience, good references, their own transport and a CRB (if not be willing to pay for one). Nanny / Mothers help Positions

Pilning, Bristol
Part Time Nanny

A family moving to Bristol in the summer would like a part time nanny to help care for their two children aged 10 and 3 years old. The hours are 10 hours per week over 4 days during term time and 36 hours per week during the holiday. Duties will include taking and collecting the children from school as well as preparing meals and helping with any reading or homework. A car driver is required however a car may be provided. £7.50 per hour. Part Time Nanny

A family with two children aged 2 and 4 years old would like a nanny to collect their eldest child from school starting in September and care for her on a Tuesday and Friday, 3.15pm to 6pm. Duties will include helping with homework/reading and preparing a light meal for her. The family would prefer a qualified nanny who is seeking a long term position as childcare will eventually be required for their youngest child. Teaching Assistant

A little boy going into class 3 in September requires a teaching assistant to work on a one to one basis with him.
He has a certain degree of dyspraxia so he struggles to concentrate with reading, maths etc. He attends a school in Stonehouse and requires assistance Monday to Friday, 9am to 12.30pm from september 2009 until the end of term in December. Although this position is temporary it may be extended into next year. A qualification is not required however previous experience within a similar role would be an advantage.£6.50 per hour. Nursery Nurse

An expanding private day nursery based in cotham would like to employ a new part time nursery nurse/ assistant to join their team in their 36 place baby unit,  the children in the baby unit are aged 0 to 2 and split into 4 rooms  Candidates can be qualified or unqualified but will need some nursery experience. Our client who runs a busy, 92 place day nursery in Bristol is looking to recruit a new member of staff to join their team. The nursery has two vacancies, one in the 0 to 12 months room and the other in the 12 to 18 months room. Candidates will be required to hold a level 3 qualification and have baby experience through working in a similar setting. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 6.00pm. The role involves working with children aged 0 to 5 years of age, the supervision of staff and some office duties. Candidates will need a level 3 childcare qualification, nursery experience working with in a supervisory role as well as strong leadership skills. North Somerset
Head of Department

An expanding, well established 90 place day nursery is looking to create a new job role within the setting. The expansion will create a new building splitting the age groups up so the new role would be to lead an age group of children aged between 0 and 5 years old. Duties will include working closely with the nursery manager including making decisions with regards to the smooth running of the setting, supervising staff and the planning of activities in accordance with the EYFS and liaising with other senior staff on the same level. Candidates will be required to have at least a level 3 child care qualification, experience within a similar role, a mature head on their shoulders as well as being proactive, forward thinking and organised. 38 hours per week over 4 days (Monday to Friday). Start ASAP. Salary in the region of £18,000 per annum.

 

 

 

Registration Process

To register with Childcare Solution South West you will need:

To be at least 18 years of age, hold a childcare qualification or have a least two years experience for nannying and at least one years experience for nursery nursing.

To register just complete our online registration form and email or post it back to us. Once we have received your form we will be in touch to arrange an interview. We are available to conduct interviews in the evening and at weekends as well as during the week. To complete registration you will need to supply use with

A copy of your CV
Two forms of Id (i.e. passport, driving licence, birth certificate)
Proof of address
Certificates
A passport photo
Contactable childcare references plus any written references.

Registration form

All child carers require a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau check). We are unable to put you forward for any positions without one. If you already have one please bring it with you to the interview. If your CRB is more than a year old then it will be necessary to apply for a new one which can be done through us. If you are successful in obtaining a permanent position through us we will refund half the cost of the CRB back to you.

Once we have seen all the documentation and checked references we will create a CV for you detailing all your career history plus information about you, your qualifications and your salary expectations. Your CV will be sent to parents and nurseries depending on the type of position you are looking for. We will keep in touch with you and discuss any new positions that become available. In turn we ask you to keep us updated on your situation, if you have found a position elsewhere or your requirements have changed then please let us know.

If a client would like you to attend an interview we will notify you immediately to arrange a suitable time for you to meet. We have information sheets available which give you tips on attending an interview which we are happy go through with you. If you have any questions or would like some help with interview techniques just ask.

Pay

Rates of pay vary depending upon a child carer's experience. Where a child carer works for a family either on a temporary or permanent basis the rate of pay is between £6.50 to £10.00 per hour. When working for a family the family will pay the child carer directly. It is the employer's (the family) responsibility to make tax and National Insurance deductions and provide the child carer with a pay slip. Temporary nursery work is payable by Childcare Solutions. The hourly rate varies from £5.75 to £8.50 (gross) depending on qualifications and experience.
